On a recent trip to Alaska I was fortunate to capture a couple of great shots of a Bald Eagle. We were on a whale watching excursion and this guy was perched on a buoy. I caught him as he took off from the buoy and then as he flew by. Really lucky on these shots.
Certainly among my all-time favorite bird photos. These are crops from hand-held shots using my Olympus Stylus 1.

Cardinals are basically ground feeders. I spotted a female feeding on the ground below the bird feeder and thought I’d give it a shot. I set up the tripod with the camera pointed to the spot on the ground. The male and female are always together, so I thought it I could catch one then I would likely get the other.
